Yma Tosca Lemon Obituary
Prairieville, LA - A beloved resident of Prairieville, Louisiana, passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 63. She was born on July 14, 1961, to Katherine B. Clark (née Bouligney) and Wilson Lemon of Port Allen, Louisiana. Yma was christened and baptized at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Port Allen, where her faith was first nurtured. She attended Port Allen Elementary, Saint Francis Xavier Catholic School, McKinley Senior High School, Grambling State University, and Southern University and A&M College. Education and family were central to her life. A longtime cosmetologist, Yma treated her clients like family—and they returned that love in kind. Her salon chair was a place of beauty, trust, and community. Yma was a devoted aunt to her nieces Ashley, Katherine, and Kimberly Grimes, and a proud great-aunt to Trushaad Bush, Cairo Squires, and Ashley Leigh Williams. She loved her family deeply and showed it in countless ways—big and small. She is survived by her mother, Katherine Bouligney Clark; her brother, Don Lemon; her sister, Jacqueline Gray; a dedicated brother-in-law, Morris Grimes; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends who cherished her. She was preceded in death by her sister, L'Tanya Leisa Grimes, her adoring stepfather, Horlis Clark, Sr., and her loving grandmother, Mary Jackson Rivault Bouligney. Yma had a gentle spirit and a creative soul. She was a lifelong lover of dogs and enjoyed planting flowers, crafting floral arrangements, making dolls, and creating homemade candies to share with others. Her warmth, kindness, and quiet generosity will be deeply missed. Visitation Friday, May 9, 2025, Hall's of Port Allen, 1160 Louisiana Avenue, Port Allen, LA., 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
