Baton Rouge, LA - Tressler, affectionately known as Tress, was born on September 9, 1965 to the union of Nathaniel and the late Essie Grant Coleman. She was a native and resident of Baker, LA. Tress entered eternal rest on April 10, 2025 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center surrounded by friends and family.
Tress was baptized at an early age, uniting with New Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Frank Winder. She later moved her membership, and she united with New Beginnings Ministries of Baton Rouge under the late Dr. Stella P. Righteous, currently known as, New Beginnings Cathedral C.O.G.I.C under the leadership of Elder LeRoy Johnson. She served as a member of the secretarial staff and music ministry.
Tress was a 1983 graduate of Baker High School. In 2010, she earned her degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. In 2024, Tress retired from the East Baton Rouge Parish School System with 35 years of service. Tress had a deep passion for writing and a much deeper passion for praising God. Tress also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her son, who was the love of her life, and her family.
Tress leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted and loving son, Tyler (Dominique) Sparrow, father, Mr. Nathaniel Coleman, one sister, Tynsha (Darryl) Johnson, two nephews, the apples of her eye, Trailon (Shantel) Johnson, Tarick Johnson, one Godson, Jarvis Hawkins, one Goddaughter, Amyiah Videau, one Godsister, Nekia Richardson, two Godbrothers, Alvin (Sharon) Ford, Nathan (Rita) Ford, two maternal aunts, Dorothy G. Terrell, and Mamie G. Jones, one paternal aunt, Mary C. Mulkey.
Tress had a zeal for life and lived it to the fullest. She was a woman of dignity, enjoyed laughter, and sharing God's word; she loved the Lord. She left a lasting and positive impact on everyone she encountered.
Some day, some time, our eyes shall see
The ones we loved so well.
Some day we'll clasp their loving hands
And never say farewell.
