Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Sylvia Knox Barnes, of Baton Rouge, accepted her invitation into Eternal Life on July 24, 2026 at 84. She was born in Jonesboro, Louisiana, on May 3, 1942.
A devoted and loving Christian woman, Sylvia devoted her life to Christ, her loving husband of sixty-one years (Edward Barnes, Sr.), her entire family and her church (Greater King David).
"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." As a wife, mother, and friend, those who knew Sylvia, know without a doubt that she is indeed now with our Lord and Savior. Until we all meet again, we love you, mom.
Visitation will be August 1, 2026 at Greater King David Baptist Church, 222 Blount Rd. Baton Rouge, La. from 9:00am to 10:00am with the Homegoing Celebration immediately following.
Professional Services Entrusted to Hall Davis & Sons Funeral Services.
The Interment will take place immediately following the services at Heavens Gate Mausoleum, 10633 Veterans Memorial Blvd.
