Baton Rouge, LA - Steven Gerard Oufnac, age 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Steve was born on November 17, 1959, in Baton Rouge to Angelina and Herman Oufnac.

He graduated from Central High School in 1978 and later attended Louisiana State University. Steve was a loving husband, devoted son and brother, and a cherished friend to many.

Steve embraced life fully and found great joy in fishing, photography, traveling, and making Italian sausage. He will be dearly missed especially by his lifelong friends, Johnny Medine and Charles Feduccia, as well as by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman A. Oufnac; his mother, Angelina L. Oufnac; his brother, Herman J. (Bubbie) Oufnac; and sister-in-law, Loxie R. Oufnac.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Patti Dier Oufnac; sisters, Peggy Oufnac, Jeannette Hidalgo (Dale), and Carol Mahan (Carl); brother, Jimmy Oufnac (Tina); sister-in-law, Kathy Oufnac (Bubbie), brother-in-law, Tim D. Dier (Oleg) and sister-in-law, Jeanne Dier-Eckert (Ralph); as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The Family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Steve's Physicians: Bryan J. Bienvenu, M.D. and Staff, Michael D. DiLeo, M.D. and Staff, Charles E. DeDeaux, Jr., M.D. and Staff and Mark K. Hodges, M.D. who were instrumental in his health care.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
