Baton Rouge, LA - On Saturday, August 15, 2026 our fortuitous Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Sing Lloyd VanCleave ascended to heaven with the welcome of well done good and faithful one. "NiNi" as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, lived a remarkable life. Rising from the throws of a humble, very modest childhood with 4 brothers and 4 sisters, she demonstrated that a woman with determination, grit and pursuance could achieve anything she set out to. She began her career with the State of Louisiana at the age of 18, and throughout the years climbed the ranks through the Department of Education and Department of Agriculture where she was a trusted aide to Commissioner Odom for years. She went on to join the founding staff of the Louisiana Lottery. After leaving the lottery she ran her long-established Art & Frame shop that she started in the 1970s as an ambitious entrepreneur. She worked daily until she was 90 years old in her son's business after selling the frame shop, providing administrative leadership. She traveled extensively, visiting 14 countries with her granddaughters and cherished sister, Gini. Throughout her life she was always there for her family, providing when times were tough and challenging. NiNi was a gem and contributed beyond measure during her 97 years. She is survived by her loving daughter, Robin, who spent the last 6 years supporting NiNi's fierce independence and resolve to live the fullest life possible. Her son and daughter-in-law, Kippy and Charlotte, who is truly Mom's boy and who cherished her. Her grandchildren, Treva Ann, Tiffany, Chuck, Trace Randall, Jennifer Ashley, and Destin Dial who all benefited from her selfless generosity. Her great grandchildren, Chandler, Kendall, Bella, Charleigh, Case, Levi, Sevi, and Davis. She is proceeded in death by her daughter, Lark, who we lost way too young. Although our hearts are heavy that she is gone too soon, we are so blessed to have her influence in our lives. Rest well Nini and thank you for your amazing contributions while here.
