Clinton, LA - Samuel James Collins, "Sam", a resident of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025 from complications from heart surgery. He was employed by Atlas SSI in Slaughter. He was 22 years old. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, from 5 pm until 8 pm at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary. Visitation continues on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, from 9 am until service at 11 am. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery in Clinton. He is survived by his parents, Sammy and Hollie Collins, his sister, Lily Ann Collins, grandparents, James and Alice Bass and Carol Collins. His great-grandmother, Nila Dixon and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Lloyd Collins and his cousin, Jacob Lawrence McGuff. Pallbearers will be John Havard, Curt Pace, Cody Pace, Chris Self, Jason Maples and Peanut McGuff. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Floyd, Chris "Baldy" Carson and Wilson "Dog" Moore. Sam loved guitars and music. He was a 2021 graduate of Zachary Christian Academy. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
