Santa Rosa, FL - Roger Morris Carter

Visitation services for Roger Morris Carter, 77, of Navarre, FL formerly of Foules, LA will be held on Friday, September 4th from 5-7pm at the First Baptist Church in Sicily Island, Louisiana (303 Chisum St). Funeral Services will also be held at the First Baptist Church in Sicily Island on Saturday, September 5th at 2pm and the family will receive friends from 1pm until service time at 2pm. Interment will follow at Old Pine Hill Cemetery in Leland off of Highway 913, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Roger was born on January 26, 1949 in Ferriday, Louisiana and went home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2026. He graduated from Sicily Island High School and Louisiana State University. He was a pillar across multiple communities as it was difficult to go very far without meeting someone who knew Roger or his reputation. He leaves behind a legacy of generosity, fortitude, mentorship, duty, hard work, friendship, loyalty and laughter. His story speaks through the love and admiration of the family and countless friends he has so treasured throughout his life. He will be remembered for the innumerable personal and professional endeavors and contributions that protected and fostered a beloved way of life.

He was preceded in death by mother, Carolyn Leola Carter; father, William Prentiss Carter, Jr.; sister, Carolyn Marguerita Krause; brother, William Prentiss Carter, III; and granddaughter. Karlee Jessica Carter.

Roger leaves behind his wife, Lise Anne Carter; son, Anthony Bronson Carter; daughter-in-law, Michelle Lynn Carter; granddaughters, Caroline, Charlotte, Alina; and grandsons, Christian and Cade; brother Gerald Patrick Carter; as well as countless friends and family.

Those honoring Roger as pallbearers are Christian Carter, Cade Carter, Anthony Carter, Shane Napier, James McGee, James Taylor, Matt Myers and Walter Myers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Grady Coburn, Dr. Charles Tucker, James Clower, Harold Lambert, Tim White.
