Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Roger Cador, 75, of Ventress, Louisiana, legendary former head baseball coach at Southern University, passed away on June 30, 2026. A Hall of Fame coach and one of the winningest coaches in collegiate baseball history, Cador led the Jaguars for 33 seasons, compiling 913 victories, 14 SWAC championships, two HBCU National Championships, and 11 NCAA Regional appearances. He was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame, Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and National College Baseball Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Expert and Eunice Cador, and a sister, Mary Jean Cador. He is survived by his sons, Johnthan Cador of Zachary, Louisiana, Jeremy Cador of Montgomery, Alabama, and Tim Romero of Knoxville, Tennessee; his siblings, Betty Leonard and Henry Cador of New Roads, Louisiana; his aunt, Marie Joseph of New Roads, Louisiana; and numerous family members, former players, colleagues, and friends.

Public viewing will be held Monday, July 6, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the F.G. Clark Activity Center on the campus of Southern University and A&M College, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hall Davis and Son Funeral Service.
