Gonzales, Louisiana - Melody Hilliard Christy, 71, a native and resident of Gonzales, LA, passed away on March 27, 2026, at her home in Gonzales, LA. She is survived by her two children; Toni Raquel Christy and Jason Anthony Christy, Eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, siblings; Madelyn H. Aikens (Cornell), Marlene Hilliard (Jeffery), Veronica Hilliard, William Hilliard Jr. (Trenell), Nancy H. Smith (Henry), Valerie H. Edwards and a bonus brother, Gary Williams (Mary). A visitation will be held on Friday April 10, 2026, from 5PM- 7PM and on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10AM until funeral service at 11AM at Mt. Gillion Baptist Church, 38280 Henry Rd., Prairieville, LA 70769. Arrangements entrusted to Lawson and Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home.
