Baton Rouge, LA - Mary (Marie) Angiolina Saverina Falzon Mahaffey. October 2, 1924-November 3, 2025. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6 (Marie's favorite Bible verse) Marie, at the age of 101, entered into the arms of her loving father and her eternal home on Monday, November 3, 2025. She was born on the island of Malta on the 2nd of October 1924, to her parents, Jean Baptiste and Rosina Falzon. Her father served as an evangelist. Her life was spent around the mission field. She fell in love with an American soldier and minister during WW2. He brought her to America to start a new life, leaving her country and family behind. She was retired from East Louisiana State Hospital, where she worked in the admission office. She had a passion for cooking many delicious meals, especially Italian and Mediterranean, that her family and friends thoroughly enjoyed. When she was not cooking, she always spent time with the Lord reading her Bible and devotionals, as well as never forgetting to pray for all of her family, friends, and the needy. She also loved completing her word find books, like a champ! Through her example of Christ, she left a legacy of love. Her time with family and friends was very special to her. She loved each of them dearly. The most important message she wanted everyone to know was to let God guide you every day! She is survived by her five children, Eric Mahaffey (Sherry) of Monroe, Louisiana, Lillian Gerald of French Settlement, Louisiana, Margaret Owens (Keith) of Jackson, Louisiana, Carolyn Guillory (Mike) of Jackson, Louisiana, Simeon Mahaffey (Melissa) of Panama City, Florida, 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great on the way, due in December. She is also survived by a very special niece, Ann Estey, as well as numerous other special nieces, nephews, cousins, and including her family overseas. Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Simeon Woodrow Mahaffey, her parents, Rosina and Jean Baptiste Falzon, her brothers, Jacques and Samuel Falzon, her sisters, Lydia Carbonaro, Adele Bocca, Dory LaBelle, her son-in-law, Troy Gerald, her great-grandson, Simeon Jonathan Cain, her nephews-in-law, Gary Ferraro and Rick Estey, and her great nephew, Manny Schmidt.
