Port Allen, Louisiana - Mary Jane "Jeanie" Miley, a devoted woman of faith and family, talented designer, and passionate world traveler passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Port Allen, Louisiana, at the age of 84, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born April 14, 1941, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Jeanie was a graduate of Port Barre High School and pursued her passion by earning a degree in Interior Design and working as an Interior Designer in Baton Rouge and New Orleans for many years. In her spare time, she also enjoyed designing jewelry. A true global citizen, Jeanie traveled to six of the seven continents and was a skilled linguist. She was active in organizations including Friendship Force, The Red Hat Society of Baton Rouge, The Baton Rouge Gem and Mineral Society, and The United Methodist Church. Jeanie is survived by her loving children: daughters, Debby Marshall Cazes and Cynthia Norville (Larry), and son, Chris Resweber (Elizabeth). She was a beloved grandmother to Courtney Marshall Johnson (Joshua); Jefferey Marshall (Victoria); Casey Marshall (Jessica); Corey Resweber; Meghan Resweber; Cole Norville (Christina); Austin Norville; and Cody Norville (Charissa). Her legacy continues through eleven great-grandchildren. The family extends deep gratitude to her daughter, Debby Cazes, for her selfless care during Jeanie's decade-long illness. The family also wishes to thank caregiver Wanda Leach and the Amedisys Hospice team for their ongoing support. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. The visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
