Marion Davis Obituary

Zachary, Louisiana - Marion G. Davis was born on June 25, 1931, to Leon A. Goff and Adean Seals Goff. She was the eleventh of fourteen children. She was baptized on the first Sunday of September in 1940 by Rev. Manual Early. She is a 1950 honors graduate of McKinley High School and a 1955 graduate of Southern University. She was a retiree of Sears and the East Baton Rouge Parish Department of Public Works.


Marion had a long and active spiritual journey. She has served as church clerk, choir member, teacher of Sunday School, Bible Study and New Members Class. She was a leader of Home Mission and BTU. She was an active member of East Baton Rouge Women's Auxiliary, where she served as a teacher until she was unable to drive.


She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.


Marion became a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church on the first Sunday of September in 2001 and served faithfully until her death.


She is survived by a son, two daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by all of her siblings.
