Baton Rouge, LA - Lura Parent Sharp, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the age of 94. She is survived by her children, Marsha "Jubo" Nordstrom (Ken), Sherrill Sharp Thomas, and Byron Sharp (Karen); her grandchildren, Stacy LeBlanc (Jay), Robert Clegg (Leeanna), Morgan Nordstrom (Lane), Martin Nordstrom (Megan); 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Ellis Parent, Kerry Parent (Mary), and Eloise "Mimi" Wood (Jim). She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall J. Sharp, Jr of over 50 years; grandson, Jeffrey Hanlin; her parents, Clay and Eloise Parent; siblings, Clay Jr., Ernest, Ervin, Shirley, Edward, Earl, and Perry. Visitation will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
