Leon David Dayries, Jr. (Lee), was born on August 7, 1962, and passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, after a brave and short battle with cancer. His devotion to family and friends was unwavering. Leon had a heart of gold and was always the first to offer a helping hand to those in need. He was known for his zest for life, adventure, and his incredible story-telling. Leon reconnected with his college sweetheart in 2012, and they married at his "favorite place on earth," San Juan Island, WA, a destination they cherished and visited often.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and a spirit that will never be forgotten. Leon will be missed beyond measure.
Leon is survived by wife Julie Townley Landry Dayries; daughter Dixie Dayries and son Dalton Dayries; stepdaughters Tricia Landry and Kristen Gilmer (Daniel); stepgrandchildren Jax, Vanessa Kate, and Logan Gilmer; brothers-in-law Mike Townley (Roxie) and Brent Townley; mother-in-law Peggy Martin Townley; sisters Lisa Dayries Womack (Ron), Lyndra Dayries Strickland (Paul), DeAnn Dayries Dominick (Brad), and brother Donnie Dayries (Donna); and stepmother Patsy Dayries.
