Grosse Tete, LA - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, husband, and brother, Larry Luke Lemoine, who departed this life on August 5, 2026, at his home in Grosse Tete LA at the age of 85. Born in Odenburg, LA on September 14, 1940, Larry was a man of virtue and deep kindness. His life was defined by his love for his family. He was a retired building contractor who valued hard work and honesty. He was also a member of the Army Security Agency (ASA), with three and a half years of foreign service from 1958 to 1962. Larry will be remembered for his willingness to help others and his storytelling abilities. Larry is survived by his wife of 7-½ years, Barbara "Jeanie" David; his daughters, Elizabeth Michelle "Missy" Lemoine, Dana Ann Lemoine Nelson (Kevin), Lauren Shelby Lemoine, and Shanyn Claire Nelson; grandchildren, Jonathan "Johnny" Guillory, Farah Raye Nelson (Corey Louis), Sean Luke Nelson, Zachary Michael Dorsey, and Harley Dale Gaudet; great-grandchildren, Shanyn Claire Nelson, Jonathan Lane Nelson, Hayden James Agnew, Clayton Luke Nelson, Jesse Luke Nelson, Jace Joseph Nelson, and Tyler Guillory; and great-great-grandchild Bennett Guillory. Larry is also survived by his sisters, Josephine "Josie" Lemoine Meche (Glen), Jane "Janie" Lemoine Raggio (Stephen), and his brother, James Rodney Lemoine (Carolyn). Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie Gueho Lemoine and Luke Lemoine; his wife of 53 years, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Davenport Lemoine; his brother, Raymond Andrew Lemoine; and his granddaughters, Kayla Nicole Nelson and Kimberly Anne Nelson Guillory. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 9 AM to 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 76940 Gum St., Grosse Tete LA, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, celebrated by Rev. Galeji Mulupuri. Interment at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Grosse Tete LA. Pallbearers will be Kevin Nelson, Stephen Raggio, Zachary Dorsey, Johnny Guillory, Corey Louis, and Jude David. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Comfort Care Hospice of Plaquemine LA, as well as Larry's personal caregivers Brittany, Nickie, and Savanah. Their care and compassion for Larry is truly appreciated.
