Kendra Thomas Franklin Obituary

Baton Rouge, LA - Kendra Thomas Franklin, 55, of Baton Rouge, peacefully transitioned on February 11, 2026, at Ochsner Hospital. Born on July 7, 1970, she was a devoted woman of faith who accepted Christ at an early age at Greater New Guide Baptist Church and later served faithfully as a deaconess at Star Hill Baptist Church.


A proud graduate of Istrouma Senior High School (Class of 1988), Kendra dedicated her career to helping families through her work with Volunteers of America, where she trained and supported childcare providers.


She is survived by her loving husband, Timothy Franklin; her children Marquet (Lawrence Dean) and Khyliah; her bonus children Quentin, Je'kyra, Trinity, and Timia; her mother, Margie Hatfield, and stepfather, Roosevelt; and many relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Russell Hayes, and her son, Marvin Jr.


Kendra will be remembered for her radiant smile, strong faith, and a lifelong commitment to serving others.
