Plaquemine, LA - Joseph Tatney Sr departed this life on March 16, 2026, BR General Hospital, at the age of 71. He was born September 21, 1954, in White Castle,Louisiana, to Earnest and Rosemary Tatney. Joe was the youngest of 6 siblings.

Joe was married, August 12, 2000, to Marian C. Garrett. The two were married for 25 years. Joe was blessed with 2 children Joseph Tatney Jr(deceased) and Chloe Tatney Lemelle. He also has a Stepson Derek Garrett and five grandchildren; Malachi Matthews, Monte Russell, Naomi Tatney, Bronx Lemelle and Boston Lemelle.

Survivors include: his wife, Marian Tatney; daughter, Chloe (Kevin) Lemelle; stepson, Derek Garrett; daughter-in-law, Lemekia Williams. Four grandchildren: Malachi Matthews, Naomi Tatney, Bronx and Boston Lemelle. Three Sisters: Stella Williams, Gloria Williams, and Olevia (Walter) Matthews. One Aunt, Maryann Johnson. Seven sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friend.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Tatney, Jr., his parents and two brothers.
