Bueche, LA - Joseph Evans Antie Jr. passed away at his home in Bueche surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the age of 85. He was a Marine Veteran and retired operator from Exxon. Visitation will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland, Thursday, November 6th, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m., concelebrated by Rev. Amrit Raj and Rev. Matthew Lorrain. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Frances Rumfola Antie; their five children, Michelle Antie Tucker and husband Rowdy, Gina Antie Dugas and husband Steven, Dean Antie and wife Beth, Angela Antie Musso and husband John, Brad Antie and wife Crystal; two siblings, Fred Antie and wife Carolyn, Debbie Antie Nichols; 20 grandchildren, Trent, Lindsey (Eric), Laura (Joaquin), Leah, Bryant, Gracie (Ryan,) Caleb, Carley, Ashley, Allison (Jacob) Janie (Brenda), Evan, Nathan, Josie, Anna, Brittany, Hunter, Logan, Caroline, Bronson; 7 great-grandchildren with 2 more arriving soon. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Evans Antie, Sr and Grace Morgan Antie Bergeron; and a sibling, June Antie Ballard. Joseph enjoyed traveling with his wife, who he lovingly referred to as his angel. He took great pride in his family and spending time with his grandchildren. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Michael Castine and staff, Dr. Andrew Gahagan and staff, and Haley Bourgoyne with Bridgeway Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Our hearts are broken, and he will be deeply missed.
