John Paul Weathersby
March 30, 1945 - February 26, 2026
John Paul Weathersby, a resident of Central Louisiana, passed away on February 10 at the age of 80. Born to Ida and James Weathersby and raised in McComb, Mississippi, he was a graduate of Mississippi State University and spent much of his life working as a CPA.
John particularly loved camping and had a gift for turning everyday life into an adventure. Whether he was rescuing baby birds, creating a garden, tinkering with car mechanics, or visiting his ailing mother, he always found a way to bring a story, and a little joy, into the moment, often sharing "adventure tales" just to make her smile.
He is survived by his children: Jeremy Weathersby, Jeffrey Weathersby (Kelly), and Allison Weathersby; three grandchildren, Shiri, Elijah, and Eden; two sisters, Jimmy Dale Pezant and Mae Valasak; and his loving companion, Rita.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
