Baton Rouge, Louisiana - James Pealer entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Sterling Place Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, at the age of 86, following complications of a stroke.

James was born on July 20, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late George Pealer and Mary Brown. He was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosa Lee Pealer; his children, Donald Ray Pealer, Evangeline Hill, and Cheryl Berry; thirteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Hall's Celebration Center, located at 9348 Scenic Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

A Celebration of Life Service will commence at 12:00 p.m.

Interment will follow at Louisiana National Cemetery.
