Zachary, LA - Holly Jane Brown Schwendimann passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025 at the age of 78. She was born on November 2, 1946 in Vivian, LA and grew up in Gilliam, LA as the third child of Kirby Lee Brown, Sr. and Irene Holley Brown. She married J. Robert Schwendimann, Jr. on May 7, 1966 and moved to the Baton Rouge area, eventually settling in Zachary, LA where she was a resident for 48 years. She had two daughters, Lisa and Dana, whom she loved beyond measure. She worked as a sales order clerk for a number of years before having her children and then stayed at home as a devoted mother and homemaker, volunteering as a room mother to each of her daughters' teachers and going on each and every school trip. Once her daughters were grown, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time at their camp on Toledo Bend, which she, in good fun, dubbed "Holly-wood." Her tenaciously happy spirit and sweet heart permeated her every encounter. She was incredibly creative and crafty, personalizing anything and everything with painted names,
monograms, and pictures. There was nothing she couldn't transform with her hot glue gun and paint pens in hand. She was extremely thoughtful and kind, always wanting to find the perfect gift or trinket to brighten someone's day. Holidays and birthdays were especially fun if you knew Holly. There was no limit to the amount of balloons she'd use to make sure you felt celebrated and would even mischievously hide confetti in the cards she would give as an extra bit of surprise. Her evenings were spent as an avid backyard bird watcher and she loved sitting in her swing and catching up on the daily activities of her feathered friends. She also loved keeping in touch and planning get togethers with the "Girls of '64" North Caddo High School Ladies' Group. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Schwendimann, daughters Lisa Boudreaux and Dana Guilbeau (Joshua), granddaughter Emelia Lecoq, sisters Jo Ann Quarrier and Dorothy Thetford (Alan), brother Kirby Brown, Jr., brother-in-law Duane Schwendimann, sisters-in-law Sue Dee Hodges and Carolyn Schwendimann, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend of over 70 years, Carolyn Lee Festervand. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, whom she has no doubt not stopped hugging since her heavenly arrival, brothers-in-law John Quarrier and Jeffry Schwendimann, and sister-in-law Keith Schwendimann. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Molly Capone, for her unwavering support, friendship, and Christ-like love she gave Holly over the last 30 years. Funeral services will be held at Charlet Funeral Home in Zachary, LA on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 1:00pm with Pastor Jimmy Babin officiating. A private interment will follow at Louisiana National Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held prior to the services from 11AM to 1PM.
