Baton Rouge, La - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Glenda Tate, 79, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Glenda passed peacefully on February, 24, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was a dear mother and grandmother of two. She enjoyed spending time with her friends playing bingo, going out to eat, playing cards and slot machines, and spending time at the beauty shop. An avid LSU Tigers fan, you could find her enjoying game day with her Central City Steak and Seafood family.
Glenda is preceded in death by her parents John Houston and Geneva Loupe, son John Earl Tate, and sisters Gayle Sanders and Bridget Crozier.
She leaves behind her daughter, Leslie Mouton (Keith), Blake Toler, Gracie Tate Huden (Cole), brother John Loupe (Wanda), nieces Melissa Mouton (Chad), CoCo Loupe (Michael), and nephew Blue Loupe (Megan). She also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Glenda at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, March 6, 2026. Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 1:00pm. A small service will follow. Internment will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael "Blake" Toler, Daylin Laird, Claude Bergeron, Dave Miller, Mike Adams, Marshall Lippert, Lance Davis. honorary pallbearer Paden Mouton.
The family would like to thank the staff at Baton Rouge General Medical Center including the nursing staff in the ICU for the care they provided during her last moments.
