St. Francisville, LA - Geraldine Delatte Blackard, a resident of St. Francisville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2026. She was 83 years old. Visitation will be at Second Baptist Church in Jackson on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 9am until service at 11am conducted by Rev. Thomas Giroir. Burial will be in Second Baptist Church Cemetery. She is survived by her son, Steven Ray Blackard and wife, Anna Tia Blackard. A sister, Vera Charlene Delatte Purvis, and husband, Rodney Kevin Purvis. 2 grandchildren, Miley Ann Blackard and Deryl Elizabeth Blackard James. 2 great grandchildren, Steven Hayes Blackard and Harper Wiley Crum. She is preceded in death by her husband, Archie Ray Blackard, parents, Steve and Dicie Kinchen Delatte, sister, Catherine Delatte Wynters and brother, Ralph Delatte. Geraldine dedicated her life to her family. She shared a profound bond with her husband Archie, with whom she navigated life's journey hand in hand. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories. Their partnership was a beautiful testament to true love, as they embraced every adventure together. Geraldine was unwavering in her devotion to her son, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She nurtured their dreams, celebrated their achievements, and provided a safe haven filled with warmth and guidance. She delighted in every moment spent with them, instilling in them the values of love and family. Geraldine cherished her siblings, her sisters, brother, sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Family gatherings were a hallmark of Geraldine's life and her home was always open to family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to Second Baptist Church in Jackson.
