Thibodaux, LA - Gaynell Waguespack Bourgeois, age 84, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, in her home surrounded by family in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Born on September 25, 1941, in Vacherie, Louisiana, she was the cherished daughter of Sidney and Blanche Waguespack. Friends and family will be received at Ordoyne Funeral Home on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 9: PM and will continue on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Saint Joseph Co-Cathedral from 8:00 AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM at the church with burial following at Saint Philip Cemetery in Vacherie, LA. Gaynell was the beloved wife of Leo Bourgeois, with whom she shared an extraordinary bond of unconditional love and support throughout their remarkable 64 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with devotion to family and faith. She was the proud mother of Michelle (Bobby) Schexnayder and Nannette (Greg) Ordoyne. Her legacy continues through her 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Blanche Troxclair.
