Elder Frederick I. Frisby Obituary

Baker, Louisiana - Frederick I. Frisby entered eternal rest at River Oaks Nursing Center in Baker, LA on July 14, 2025, after a long and brave battle with Prostate cancer. He was 97 years old and a retired professor of Geography at Southern University and A & M College and Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Scotlandville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rachel, and Rev. C.W. Frisby, first wife Bernice Edwards Frisby, sister Lennie and brothers John and Theodore, and son Carl Frisby Sr. He is survived, by his loving wife, Mary Williams Frisby and son, Kevin Frisby, and was loved dearly by his five stepchildren, Andray, Cathy, Ronnie, Derek and Tania, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved and will miss him dearly.

Services will be, on July 24, 2025, at Hall Davis & Son Funeral Home, 9834 Scenic Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70807. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon with funeral services immediately following. Interment will be at Port Hudson National Cemetery, 20978 Port Hickey Rd, Zachary, LA.
