Vacherie, LA - Felicien J. Loup, Jr., a native of Wallace and resident of Vacherie, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the age of 92. "FJ" was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a retired carpenter/painter of Kaiser Aluminum & Chemicals and LaRoche Chemicals, a proud veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in Germany, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1514 for 73 years. FJ enjoyed listening to music and dancing the jitterbug with his lovely wife, Iris. He enjoyed all things about classic cars and was most notably recognized by his green 1952 Chevy Bel-Air. His favorite retirement pastime was being his grandchildren's biggest fan. Felicien is survived by his son, Leslie (Maggie) Loup, and daughters, Karen (Michael) Petranick, Cindy (Mark) Fontenelle, and Cheryl (Philip) Lyons; his grandchildren: Brett (Anne) and Justin (Adeline) Loup, Michael, Patrick (Rita) and Emily Petranick, Sarah (Jace) Atkinson, Daniel Fontenelle, and Jacob Lyons, and a great grandchild, Noah Petranick. FJ is also survived by his brother, Curtis Loup (Linda Leblanc), and sister, Linda (the late Myles) Chauvin, as well as his sisters and brothers-in-law, Cecile Loup and Betty Loup, Linda (the late Antoine) Chenier, Rose Marie (the late Allen) Hymel, Rosalie (the late Carol) Hymel, Aubrey (Mary Ellen) Gravois, Eugene (Marie) Gravois, and Lynn (the late Ernest) Gravois, Aimee (Denis, III) Simon, Maria (the late Dean) Gravois. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Iris Gravois Loup, his parents, Felicien Sr. and Linda Tregre Loup, and his siblings Anabelle (Earl) Lambert, Shirley (Richard) Schexnayder, Ruby (Henry) Roussel, Leroy and Gene Loup, and his father and mother in-law, Antoine and Florence Gravois. Special thanks are extended to his wonderful caregivers during the last 4 months, Kathleen, Linda, Arlene, and Wendy; to all of the caring staff of the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home, as well as the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care. Services will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. with the visitation immediately following from 9:00 am until 11:00 am with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in FJ's name may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T.ORG).
