Elizabeth Jane Wendt-Forbes ("Cissy") Obituary

Elizabeth Jane "Cissy" Wendt-Forbes, wife, daughter, sister, stepmother, aunt, realtor, fur-mama, and friend, took her last breath on Earth and her first breath in Heaven on April 11, 2025. Cissy was a native of Pride, Louisiana, daughter of Betty Mae Kaufman Wendt and Robert Paul Wendt, born in 1953 in Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Milldale Baptist Church, 11950 Milldale Road, Zachary, LA from 9:00 am until funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Clinton, Louisiana. Cissy is survived by her husband David Wayne Forbes, stepdaughter Margaret Leigh Forbes and her daughter Mary Margaret, brother Thaddeus "Thad" Wendt and wife Heidi, sister-in-law Evelyn Knight Wendt, niece Kimberlee Wendt Madison, and husband Bart, nephew Grayson Paul Wendt, niece Shelby Grace Wendt and fur babies Melania, Dixie and Sassy. Cissy was preceded in death by her immediate family consisting of her mother, Betty Mae Kaufman Wendt, her father Robert Paul Wendt, brother Kenneth "Kenny" Michael Wendt and stepson Sterling David Forbes. The pallbearers are Thaddeus "Thad" Jeffery Wendt; Grayson Paul Wendt; Joe Darren Forbes and Donald D. Forbes Jr.; James "Jimmy" Jenkins IV; and honorary pallbearer William A. Clattenburg. Cissy was an active member of Milldale Baptist Church in Zachary, Louisiana where she participated in Sunday school; Bible study; and many other activities. She graduated from Pride High School and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. Cissy was a realtor for more than 40 years working for several different real estate companies as well as being a member of several real estate associations. She recently received an award for being a Top Producer. Cissy was known for many things, especially for how much she loved the Lord, cared for others, never forgot a birthday or important dates. She loved her country, board games, traditions, her animals and especially her family. Cissy was a walking miracle as one of the oldest congenital heart patients in the State of Louisiana having undergone one of the first heart surgeries as a child back in the sixties by Dr. Denton Cooley. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Milldale Baptist Church or LPCF Louisiana Pediatric Cardiology Foundation. The family would like to thank Pastor Jeremy Pruitt and his wife Dell and their church family at Milldale Baptist church for the love and support during this difficult time.
