Baton Rouge, LA - Dorotha Weidemeyer Kubricht, affectionately known as "Dottie", passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dottie was born on November 15, 1942, in Hebbville, Maryland, daughter of the late Lloyd and Catherine Weidemeyer. A retired Professor of Nursing, she received her BS, RN at the University of Florida where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She received advanced degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi, and McNeese University. During her career she served on the faculties of Shands Hospital, at the University of Florida, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Emory University, Atlanta, Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing and Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. An author of numerous nursing and medical articles, Dottie also served on the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. She eventually retired after her 27-year tenure from the faculty of Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing. She then went on to work as a Nurse Practitioner full-time before retiring at the age of 79. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Leadership Baton Rouge and was on the advisory board of Chi Omega at LSU. Dottie is survived by her children, Kimberly Kubricht, DNAP, of Slidell, Dawn Harkins (John), of Slidell, and William "Trey" S. Kubricht, III, MD (Amy), of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Hagan Harkins, of Orlando, Florida, John Harkins, III, of New York City, Samantha Harkins, of Slidell, Faith Kubricht, of Baton Rouge, and Liam and Emma Kubricht, of Slidell; sister, Marcia Kay Dahlstrom, of Dunedin, Florida; brother, Carleton L. Weidemeyer, of Clearwater, Florida; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to invite all who knew and loved Dottie to join them as we commemorate her life. A visitation will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 8833 Goodwood Blvd, in Baton Rouge, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 12:30 PM, until memorial services at 1:30 PM.
