"I have fought the good fight, 1 have finished my course, 1 have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7) Curtis Henry Hardin Jr. was a wonderful Daddy, Grandfather, Friend, and Uncle. He was born to Curtis Hartwell Hardin and Pearl Spratlin Hardin on April 2, 1929, in Loyd, Mississippi. He was a resident of Denham Springs, LA, but lived in Baton Rouge for many years. He was carried in the arms of Jesus to his eternal home on Friday, April 3, 2026. He was able to celebrate his 97th birthday. He taught his Family how to love Jesus and always brought them to church to study God's word. He served faithfully in helping to start Jefferson Baptist Church with former Pastor, Tommy French, where he is currently a member; then served faithfully at Lanier Baptist Church as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and on many committees. Curtis also faithfully served his country as a proud Veteran in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He was a faithful husband to Coleen Keller Hardin for 71 years; a loving Daddy to Debra Hardin Raborn (Keith) and Tamela Hardin Jarrell (Mark); and a proud Grandfather to Ashleigh Jarrell McHugh (Ben), Caleb Raborn (Mikayla), and Sarah Raborn Sotillo (Isaac) and a loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Curtis Hardin worked faithfully and was very loyal employee to Allied Chemical for 30 years. His many hours and years of service went way beyond expectations. He taught his children the importance of work ethics and never to be lazy. He was an avid gardener for many years. Curtis is preceded in death by his wife, Coleen Keller Hardin, his parents Curtis Hartwell Hardin and Pearl Spratlin Hardin; his siblings, brother, Hugh Spratlin (Bud) Hardin, his sisters, Dorothy Hardin Crocker, Rebecca Hardin Pilgreen and Beverly Hardin Bridwell. He is survived by his sister Billye Hardin, and sister-in-law, Rebecca Ashby Hardin. Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Tree Planting Timeline
