Donaldsonville, La - Clarence Gipson, Jr., a Donaldsonville resident, departed this life on Christmas Day at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was 79 years old. Born
to the late Olevia and Clarence Gipson, Sr., he was a 1964 graduate of
Lowery High School. He was enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1964-1968. He later attended trade school and worked at Ormet Aluminum
Corporation and Texaco for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Jackson Gipson of Donaldsonville;children, Aaron Gipson, Sr. (Stacey) of Lakeland, Tn, Moniqueka Gipson of Donaldsonville, La, Danyell (Wilton) Walker of Gonzales, La, and Joycelyn Gipson of Donaldsonville, La; grandchildren, Ariel Gipson, Terrell Gipson,
and Aaron Gipson, Jr.; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Cheryl (Royal)Forcell, Sandra Perry, Muriel (Phillip) Feast, and Drue (Kenneth) Ford;
brothers, Kevin (Ashley) Gomez and Courtney (Cathlyn) Gaines; and Goddaughter, Antoinette Johnson. He is also survived by aunts, an uncle,
and a host of other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Olevia and Clarence Gipson, Sr.; brother, Carl Michael Gipson; nephews, Robert and Daren (Godson) Taylor
and Damico Gipson; brother-in-law, Earl Perry, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Skinner
Visitation will be January 10, 2026 at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, 206 W. 10th St. Donaldsonville, La starting at 10:00 until funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church.
