Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Charles Vincent "Pokie" Pocorello Jr., co-founder of Pocorello's Casa d'Italia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in the care of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 83, a member of St. George Catholic Church, and a graduate of Baton Rouge High School. Charles is survived by his three sons, Charles "Noonie" Pocorello (Liz), John "Mickey" Pocorello, and Anthony Pocorello; eleven grandchildren, Cassidy Pocorello (Gustavo Diaz), Mary Kate Ritchie, John Ritchie (Isabella), Charles "Luke" Pocorello (Kinsey), Robert Ritchie, Nicola Pocorello, Michael Pocorello, Sawyer Sedotal, Paige Pocorello Prevot (Adam), Tony Pocorello, and Ethan Pocorello; and three great-grandchildren, Mila Diaz-Pocorello, Piper Prevot, and Parker Prevot. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vita "Pat" Digirolamo Pocorello; parents, Charles V. (Pokie) Pocorello Sr. and Ann Michelli Pocorello; and sister, Charlotte Pocorello Ardoin. The family would like to thank Dr. London Guidry, Dr. Lara Falcon, Sheila Exnicious, Peggy Landry, Carol Williams, Tina Lee and the Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center staff for all the personal care they provided. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Dr. Baton Rouge, LA 70806, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. The Mass will be conducted by Bishop Michael Duca and co-celebrated by Fr. Miles Walsh. Interment will follow at St. George Catholic Church Cemetery. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Gino Marino, Frank Lopinto, Chris Guilliot, Tony Smith, Tommy Gerald, and SJ Fontana. Memorial donations may be made in lieu flowers to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
