Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Charles Howard Macmurdo, born on May 1, 1962, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the age of 64. Charles was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Later, he became a special education teacher serving middle schoolers. He also owned an income tax preparation business. Charles loved everything LSU, especially football, basketball, and baseball. He had a heart for animals, especially his beloved cat. Charles is survived by his brothers, Dr. Hal David Macmurdo (Mary Jo) and William Edward Macmurdo (Mimi); nephews, James Bailey Macmurdo (Rachel) and Paul Monroe Macmurdo; niece, Rachel Macmurdo Elkassouf (Mark); great-niece, Susanna Marie Macmurdo; great-nephews, Levi Otto Macmurdo and Emmett Pierce Elkassouf. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hal Bailey Macmurdo and Marilyn Swindler Macmurdo; uncle, Richard Edward Macmurdo; and cousin, Richard Bailey Macmurdo. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Charles' life on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 9:30 AM with services beginning at 10:00 AM.
