Baton Rouge, Louisiana - After a life filled with love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family, Carolyn Ann Harger passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 83. Born in Dighton, Kansas, to Fern Louise and Earnest August Wilbert, Carolyn was raised in Alexandria, Louisiana, alongside her three sisters. A devoted Catholic, her faith in God was the foundation of her life and guided the way she loved, served, and cared for others. Carolyn graduated from Holy Savior Menard High School, where she was honored as the Key Club Sweetheart, and later attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana as a proud member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. She earned a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in special education from Louisiana State University before dedicating 30 years to teaching elementary special education. Her compassion, patience, and belief in every child touched the lives of countless students and their families. She shared an extraordinary bond with her sisters, Marilyn, Sharon, and Arlene. Affectionately known as the "Wonderful Wilberts," they rarely missed an opportunity to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and life's special moments together, creating traditions and memories that their families will treasure for generations. Carolyn's greatest joy was being the mother of Beau and Ben, she shared a uniquely close bond with each of them, one built on unconditional love, constant support, and genuine friendship. She delighted in making every holiday and family celebration unforgettable, filling her home with beautiful decorations, laughter, and traditions. Whether cheering on their favorite teams, enjoying concerts and movies, or sharing a meal at Superior Grill, she treasured every moment spent with her boys. Carolyn is survived by her sons, Beau and his wife, SuEllen, and Ben and his wife, Celine; her sisters, Marilyn Wilbert and Arlene Ryder; and her cherished grandson, Reid. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fern Louise and Earnest August Wilbert, and her beloved sister, Sharon Andrew, who passed away nearly 24 hours before her. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.
