Shreveport, Louisiana - Annie Mary (Walker) Stringer was born December 21,1939 in Waynesboro, Mississippi and passed away on October 20, 2025 at The Oaks of Louisiana in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics. Later, she would earn her Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Nicholas State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Annie was employed by the Lafourche Parish School Board, teaching first at Bayou Blue Elementary and then Thibodaux Elementary as an inclusive kindergarten educator.

Mrs. Stringer was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Thomas Ray Stringer, her parents, James Franklin Walker, Sr. and Sarah McCrae Walker, brothers James Franklin "Jim" Walker, Jr. (and wife, Shirley Rigaud Walker), Farker Evander "Bud" Walker, and Patrick Walker (infant).

She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Annette Stringer of Lawrence, Kansas and Jana Leigh Stringer of Shreveport, Louisiana, niece Jamie Walker Batey (Larry) of Shreveport, Louisiana and nephew James Franklin "Jeff" Walker, III (Nancy) of Bogalusa, Louisiana, three great nieces, one great nephew, one great-great niece, and one great-great nephew.

As per her wishes, no service will be held. Mrs. Stringer's family asks that donations be made in her name to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
