Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Annie Mae Day Dier, our precious mother, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the age of 94. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving children. Annie Mae was born on May 10, 1931, in Crosby, MS, to the late Bernard W. Day, Sr. and Leona T. Day. At an early age, her family moved to Baton Rouge, LA, where she graduated from Istrouma High School in 1948. While working at the Louisiana State Library, she attended Louisiana State University. Annie Mae was a Charter Member and the first Secretary of Winbourne Avenue Baptist Church. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Jesse Dier, on October 6, 1950. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and service in Central, Louisiana and were longtime members of Zoar Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Tim Dier of Geismar, LA; her daughters, Jeanne Dier-Eckert (Ralph) of Erie, PA, and Patti Oufnac (Steve) of Baton Rouge, LA; her grandsons, Garrett Dier of Geismar, LA; Bradley Dier (Shannon) of Angleton, TX; and Reid Eckert (Theresa) of Erie, PA; and great-grandsons, Trey, Mayson, and Cameron. She is further survived by her brothers, James Day of Bueche, LA; Leon Day (Sylvia) of Bueche, LA; and Leo Day (Lana) of Ventress, LA. Annie Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesse Dier; her grandson, Trey Dier; her brother, Bernard W. Day, Jr.; and parents, Bernard W. Day, Sr. and Leona T. Day. Her life was a testament to faith, love, and devotion to her family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, Friday, December 26, 2025, from 12:30 PM until funeral service at 2:30 PM. Interment will follow at Resthaven Garden of Memory.
