Baton Rouge, LA - Angela Josephine (Barter) St. Pierre passed away peacefully at her home on June 10, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Angela was born on July 13, 1945, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She grew up in Mobile, Alabama, where she spent her childhood on the same street as Little Flower Catholic Church and School, which played an important role in her early life and faith formation. She attended Bishop Toolen Catholic High School and graduated in 1963.

That fall, Angela moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU, where she met her future husband, Albert J. "Al" St. Pierre Sr., at a Catholic dance in the "Old Field House". The couple married at Little Flower Catholic Church in Mobile in 1966 and built a loving life together in Baton Rouge.

Angela devoted herself to her family as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the proud mother of three sons: Al Jr., Andrew, and Adam. Known for her sharp intellect and remarkable memory, Angela was an avid reader who never stopped learning. Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she found great joy in Bible study, prayer, and making rosaries. She was thoughtful, generous, and deeply committed to maintaining close relationships with family members across the Gulf Coast and beyond.

Angela was preceded in death by her parents, James Francis Barter and Adelaide McQuillen Barter.

She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Al St. Pierre Sr.; her sons, Al St. Pierre Jr., Andrew St. Pierre, and Adam St. Pierre; her daughter-in-law, Tracy St. Pierre; her grandson, Aidan Paul St. Pierre; her sister, Eileen LeNoir; her brother, James Francis Barter Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Angela's unwavering faith, loving heart, and devotion to family will be remembered always by those fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation will be held on June 19, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave, Baton Rouge, LA from 9 am - 10 am, followed by a funeral service at 10 am. Angela will be interred in the Our Lady Of Mercy Peace Garden located behind the church.
