Baton Rouge, LA - Angela Patel passed away on Monday, July 9, 2026, at the age of 72. She was born on May 5, 1954, in Morganza, Louisiana, to Camille and Joyce Laborde. Angela graduated from Morganza High School in 1972. Following her graduation, she continued her education at Louisiana State University, where she earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Social Work. She then began her career as a social worker, dedicating her time to helping those struggling with addiction. She is preceded in Death by her parents, Camille Noah Laborde and Joyce Callegan Laborde; her stepson, Jeremy Paul Patel; grandparents, Ivy Callegan, Wilma Granier Callegan, S. Adolph Laborde, Lillian Byrd Laborde; uncle, Larry Callegan; and stepmother, Dorothy L. Laborde. Angela is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Jayant Shankerbhai Patel; her sisters, Jonna L. Fremin (Blair) and Melissa L. Morrison (John); nephews, Derek J. Fremin (Danielle) and Dustin J. Fremin (Angel), her aunts, Judy Callegan Burke (Jules) and Melody Callegan, and cousins, Monte Burke, Rachel Burke Minor, Missie Callegan, Bryne Callegan, Carla Callegan, and Nicole Callegan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at St. George Catholic Church, located at 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
